We counted birds on December 20, 2020 for the Christmas Bird Count. The day was COLD but we birded slowly for over two hours and observed 14 species. We will participate in the Backyard Count this weekend (Feb 12-15, 2021). If you’d like to join us, masked and physically distanced, send an email to hello@wspecoprojects.org with “bird count” in the subject.
Save the date for the Park-by-Park Challenge, part of City Nature Challenge 2021, Friday, April 30th – Monday, May 3rd. We will provide details in a future newsletter.
Georgia is on a lecture circuit this year. She’ll be presenting on the birds and trees of the park on March 23rd, 7pm, hosted by the Brooklyn Bird Club. Registration (free) details here.
